I love Bali .... was there last year with my colleagues, every year our company will organize a family day trip. But all the ladies including me that you see in this picture are singles only our male colleagues (not in pic) who brought their families. I had a friend who tag along with me too!! We stayed in one of the resort and each of us was given own suite. We went to Kuta for shopping as well as Ubud. Something strange but nice things did happen to me while I'm in Ubud, after having dinner near the padi field the driver actually took us to an historical site. The place is believe to have been used by (kraton) or what we call it Royalties in English for rituals and praying. Before entering the area we were told to wear a Sarong coz we are not suppose to show off our knees. At first I was kind of reluctant as I prefer to shop around the area instead but since most of my colleagues went in to see so I followed.
The place was surrounded by greeneries and we had to go down the stairs, I saw many big ancient statues it could have been more then hundred yrs old, very interesting. I was carrying a Surah Yassin with me at all times during the trip actually. We then walk into a small & dark cave (gua) Its is actually a praying area for the Balinese priests, I saw many small ornaments wt only candles to brightened up the area but I could feel quite stuffy as there were no air inside the cave. After looking around for 3 mins I walked out of the cave and when I step out my eyes suddenly spotted a very old grandma (Nyaii) wearing a Balinese costume sitting on the bench starring at me. She came to my side with a friendly smile and asking me where am I from then she did say something like word Kraton to me. To be honest she only approached me instead of other visitors who were also there.
Then she picked up a small basket with a flowers inside and told me to put a few coins before she did some praying. "Sebagai orang Islam dan menghormati agama lain I tak suka melukakan hati manuisa walaupun mereka different religion especially orang orang tua kerana mereka punya pengalaman dan keikhlasan dan kejujuran mereka untuk mendoakan kita saya terima dengan kesyukuran" What i am saying is that no matter what we believe in (religion) we still should always respect what other people believes in we cannot condemn most important is we have learn more about the different the cultures and religion so as not to offend anyone.
Back to the story after praying she came to me and give me a blessing, then she followed me from the back while I was touring around the area as if she is protecting me. We were there about half hour before leaving I said goodbye to the Grandma and while I was walking up the stairs to go back, our tour agent came to me and start asking with curosity " How come that old woman talk to you instead of others?" I looked at her and said "Im not sure but she is nice" Maybe because of my family background that spiritually the grandma might have known or felt. Allahualam....
Anyway it was a really exciting trip I love the people, the sceneries & ofcoz shopping. Oh yes and we did went for the Balinese massage it was really fantastic.
